First meeting at Zemplín

First meeting at Zemplín

In 2021, we met for the first time at the Zemplín castle to explore the possibilities and potential to revive the region and do something for public archaeology.

In addition to a great welcome from locals, we received all sorts of support from the mayor, and that’s why we held a public lecture for the people of Zemplín about the history and especially the research perspectives of this great location.

The meeting was of an international nature from the beginning – colleagues from Hungary and Slovenia arrived, and in addition to supporting the research of the National Heritage Institution directly on the castle grounds, we traveled around the area, drank tokaj and admired František Rákóczi’s manor in Borša.
